Cuiffo & Sobelle
What happens when two absurdist theater makers are given free rein to create Something Amazing in the smallest theater in New York City? We honestly have no idea—but we’re so damn excited to find out. This March, 69 Atlantic is proud to present the world premiere of a new collaborative work by Steve Cuiffo & Geoff Sobelle.
Cuiffo and Sobelle are classically trained, critically acclaimed, multidisciplinary artists who share a lifelong love for magic. Their passion is infectious and their talent is world-renowned. They have provided magic direction for David Blaine, illusion design for Natalie Palamides, and special effects consultation for Walt Disney Resorts.
We’ve been fans of these kind-hearted surrealists for many years and have traveled far and wide to witness their spectacular, genre-defying performances of The Object Lesson, Elephant Room, Home, Food and A Simulacrum. Cuiffo and Sobelle have been invited to present their original creations at arts festivals across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
We simply do not know what they have planned to do here at 69 Atlantic. Their process is mysterious! We don’t care. We do know it will be great because everything we’ve ever seen them do has been astounding, hilarious and inspiring. Come bear intimate witness to the mind-expanding power of collaboration as two virtuosic performers thumb their noses at the impossible.
